Waterbury On Location; Pond Hockey on Pokegama Lake
A classic 3v3 pickup
Here at Waterbury Wine & Spirits, we pride ourselves in providing the ultimate beverage experience no matter what the occasion is; art gallery openings, live drawing classes, movie nights, knitting parties, band practices or even just couple to-go boosters, we’re here for it all. But when we were approached about a pond hockey tournament, we had to think outside of the (penalty) box to come up with this hat trick. Here’s what we went with for the Parkyns Classique on Lake Pokegama in Chetek, WI.
Andi Weigand Amphora Pinot Noir 2022 - An inspiring, lighter red, when Pinot Noir from a northern climate is on the roster. Taste the crunch of the tannins bounce off of the crunch of outdoor ice. A winemaker who prides himself on providing beverages for all gatherings, you can almost picture Andi off the sideboards DJ’ing the game play with this bottle.
Yeti Junmai Sake 1.8 L - A classic dry sake inspired by the local lore Yuki Otoko, the yeti of Niigata, this sake has a light and refreshing taste punctuated by the cold air of an outdoor game. For the end of a long shift or to celebrate a big win, this junmai is made with the soft water from Mt. Makihata, perfect for hydrating and imbibing.
Antica Torino Vermouth Bianco - How do you end a day on the Pond? Antica Torino from Turin, Italy would like a word with the coach…with crisp signature notes of iris and licorice, and of such a quality that it is renowned for its ability to fly solo on a breakaway, or mix it up in the corner with rocks & a twist.
